Currently we are looking for Character Artist for our direct client at Redmond, WA Responsibilities: · Responsible for creating 2D and/or 3D animation, also may be asked to perform the following: cartography, illustration, story boarding, text/logo design, icons and digital graphic elements for web/print applications; may be required to create visual elements from written material. · This is a rare opportunity to join a seasoned, creatively driven team on an exciting next-generation project. · Qualified individuals are expected to communicate and collaborate well with our development team. · Candidates will have a proven track record in creating high quality 3D characters, clothing, props and items in a broad range of visual styles. Required Skills: · The Character Artist has a strong understanding of 3D modeling techniques both high-res and low-res for characters, character components and props, and how to move game assets through a pipeline. · Have a strong proficiency in color theory, texture painting and techniques for generating high quality texture maps and materials. · To create art that conforms to the technical guidelines of the target platform · The Character Artist is responsible to seek feedback from his peers and leads. · Participate in meetings and reviews, as part of effective communication with the team. · The Character Artist is responsible to follow direction from their Lead and Director. · Give appropriate feedback to improve the creative process in a collaborative environment and be a positive and creative force in the team. · Will capably and consistently meet project deadlines and milestones set by project leads and Art Director. · Successful candidates should be well versed in programs like 3DS Max, Maya, or XSI, Mudbox, Zbrush and Photoshop. · Candidates are expected to have a strong facility in 3D modeling and texturing and deliver high quality assets within guidelines set by their Leads and the Art Director. Character artists have an excellent understanding of human anatomy and color theory. Additional Skills: · 2-3 plus years related work experience. Work experience with the creation of illustrations for web and/or print material preferred. · Must have proven expertise in field. · Must be highly motivated and have demonstrated experience with software programs (Photoshop, Illustrator) required to accomplish the task. · Ability to illustrate, sketch, and storyboard concepts. · Experience with graphic software (i.e. Photoshop). · Experience with creating digital animations in Flash or other related tools. Some basic knowledge of HTML may be required. · Technical web understanding may be required. Portfolio review may be required. Bachelor's degree in Illustration, Fine Arts or related field preferred.
