Job Description

Primary responsibility is to manage individual collection portfolios, develop strong customer relationships to enhance collections effectiveness ensuring American Express profitability while maximizing recovery of card member balances. Handle inbound calls/initiate outbound calls to collect on past due accounts, advise of account status and consequences. Make sound decisions to ensure profitability while maintaining professional working relationships between customers and American Express and address other credit-related inquiries from customers about their accounts.

Required Qualifications

Moderate to highly analytical individual with 1- 3 years of recent collections experience. Proficient PC skills (MS office) and web knowledge required. 3rd party collections experience a plus. Preferred experience with Risk initiatives as they pertain to Client level dunning. Ideal candidate will have desire to gain additional experience and be flexible to learn new processes to support several functions within the team as business dictates. Work independently yet be a team player in a structured environment with minimal supervision.
Proven negotiation/problem-solving skills with internal & external clients. Experience in identifying gaps and generating process improvement ideas. Demonstrated ability to learn new functions and skills in a technical environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong flexibility/adaptability while orienting others to effective change management. Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work while analyzing and assessing client needs. Must manage multiple tasks within stringent timeframes while maintaining accuracy.
Tier 3 + commission up to $2k/mo.
